How to Track Key Platform Metrics and Respond to Alerts

This guide explains how to effectively monitor the WhiteLabel platform's performance metrics and respond to system alerts through the Admin Dashboard.

Accessing the Dashboard

  1. Log in to your admin account
  2. Navigate to the Admin Panel via the role switcher or by going to /admin
  3. The dashboard is the default landing page, but you can also click on "Dashboard" in the sidebar

Understanding Dashboard Tabs

The Admin Dashboard has two main tabs:

Overview Tab

The Overview tab provides a snapshot of current platform metrics and alerts. This is the default view when accessing the dashboard.

Analytics Tab

The Analytics tab offers more detailed trend analysis and historical data for deeper insights.

Monitoring Key Metrics

The dashboard displays several key performance indicators (KPIs) that you should regularly monitor:

User Metrics

  • Total Users: The total number of registered users on the platform

    • Shows both the total count and active users
    • Monitor for unusual spikes or drops in registration
  • Pending KYC: Users who have submitted KYC but haven't been verified yet

    • Shows the number of users awaiting verification
    • High numbers indicate a verification backlog that needs attention

Deal Metrics

  • Total Deals: The total number of investment deals on the platform

    • Shows both the total count and active deals
    • Monitor for growth trends and deal activity
  • Total Investment: The aggregate amount invested across all deals

    • Shows the total investment volume in platform currency
    • Key indicator of platform financial activity

Trading Metrics

  • P2P Trading: Statistics on peer-to-peer trading activity

    • Shows active trades and completed trades
    • Monitor for secondary market health
  • Trading Volume: The total value of P2P trades

    • Shows the financial volume of secondary market activity
    • Important for assessing token liquidity

Understanding Alert Sections

The dashboard prominently displays alerts that require administrative attention. These alerts are prioritized by urgency.

Token Sale Deployment Required

This section shows deals that need token sale smart contracts deployed:

  • Lists each deal by title with its current status
  • Provides direct "Deploy Contract" buttons for immediate action
  • Shows the number of deals requiring deployment
  • Includes an informational message explaining the requirement

How to Respond:

  1. Review each listed deal to ensure it's ready for contract deployment
  2. Click the "Deploy Contract" button for the deal you want to process
  3. Follow the contract deployment workflow (wallet connection, parameter confirmation, etc.)
  4. Verify the contract is successfully deployed on the blockchain

Action Required Notifications

This section shows consolidated alerts for various administrative actions needed:

  • Grouped by action type (e.g., Token Sale Deployment)
  • Shows affected items with clickable links
  • Provides context about the required action

How to Respond:

  1. Review the action type and affected items
  2. Click on the item links to navigate directly to the relevant page
  3. Complete the required action for each item
  4. Return to the dashboard to verify the alert has been cleared

Monitoring Recent Activity

The Recent Activity feed provides a chronological record of platform actions:

  • Shows timestamp for each activity
  • Displays the user who performed the action
  • Indicates the action type with color-coded icons
  • Provides a brief description of the action

Key Activity Types to Monitor:

  • Contract Deployments (deploy_token_sale): Monitor for successful contract deployments
  • Deal Approvals (approve): Track deal approval workflow
  • Comments (comment): Monitor communication on deals
  • Status Changes: Watch for deal status transitions
  • User Actions: Monitor administrative user activity

How to Use the Activity Feed:

  1. Check the feed regularly for recent platform activity
  2. Look for patterns or unusual activities
  3. Click on specific activities to navigate to the related item
  4. Use the feed to verify that your administrative actions were recorded

Using Quick Actions

Use these buttons to quickly navigate to key administrative sections when responding to alerts.

Setting Up Alert Notifications

  1. Configure your notification preferences in your admin profile
  2. Set up email notifications for critical alerts
  3. Consider setting up browser notifications for immediate alerts

Best Practices for Metric Monitoring

Regular Monitoring Schedule

Establish a consistent schedule for dashboard checks:

  • Daily: Check for pending KYC verifications and token deployment alerts
  • Weekly: Review user growth and investment trends
  • Monthly: Analyze overall platform performance metrics

Responding to Metric Changes

Metric ChangePossible CauseRecommended Response
Sudden increase in usersMarketing campaign success or potential spam accountsVerify new user authenticity and monitor KYC completion rates

Creating Custom Reports

For more detailed analysis:

  1. Use the Analytics tab to explore specific metrics
  2. Export data for external analysis if needed
  3. Create regular reports for stakeholders on platform health

Troubleshooting Dashboard Issues

Common Issues

  1. Metrics Not Updating

    • Refresh the browser
    • Check for background processing tasks
    • Verify database connectivity
  2. Missing Alerts

    • Ensure notification settings are properly configured
    • Check if alerts were already addressed by another admin
    • Verify alert triggers are functioning correctly
  3. Discrepancies in Metrics

    • Cross-check metrics with detailed reports
    • Verify calculation methods
